Happy Birthday, Maiden Media!

Happy Birthday, Maiden Media!

Whew! Here we are in on October 12, 2012 – another year older, wiser, and ready to take on year 3 full-force. A lot has happened in the last 12 months and to say we’ve grown from it would be an understatement. As we prepare for another 365 days of learning, expanding, and innovating, here’s an ode to the things that have brought us to where we are.

Additions to Our Growing Client List

Whenever we begin an engagement with a client, we take some time to discuss the ways we’ll be able to grow from the work we plan to do. This year, that list practically wrote itself. Delving into these consumer-facing brands was the perfect opportunity to put our social media skills to work. Our phones are buzzing like crazy with new Likes, Wall Posts, and Messages, but it’s no problem because we’re totally loving the attention.

Three New Faces on 2nd Street

It’s always interesting to add some new personalities to the mix, so we were thrilled to take on three new employees this year. So while Tahoorah responds to tons of client Facebook posts, Dhruv looks for ways to enhance our graphic design work and Jeff makes sure projects are moving and deadlines are met. But when things aren’t too crazy, the team is most likely scouring Old City for a new lunch spot, scoping out the office for a good place to hide the Beanie Baby mouse, or arguing about the mph rate of a segway. You know, normal stuff.

A New Shelf in our Trophy Case

This year we were recipients of two awards – The Young Entrepreneurs of the Delaware Valley and the Benny for Interactive and Creative Website. We kept it super classy both times – sporting fancy outfits, separate forks for salad and dinner, and even cloth napkins on our laps. It’s always nice to feel recognized for your work, so this year felt double nice.

Philly’s Annual Walk + Run Against Hunger

Not only did we team up with the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger to raise awareness via social media design and execution, but we laced up our sneakers and spent the morning walking for the cause. We developed a custom microsite which aggregated tweets, Facebook posts, and Instagram pictures during the event while we worked as a street team, passing out cards and directing people to the site. We had a ton of fun and found a great way for social media to be used for social causes. Good deal.

Same Office, New Look

We switched things up this year and rearranged our seating set-up in the office. The only important thing about this change is the addition of the couches to the main entryway, since they are guarded by a giant stuffed gorilla. Obviously very normal.

We’re excited to embark on a new year with new opportunities to add to the Maiden story. We’re looking ahead with confidence and excitement, making plans to reinvent the way we construct our programs and the way we define our team. Keep in touch along the way and we’ll make sure you stay posted on the progress.
